We are recruiting a fantastic Payroll Management opportunity on behalf of a great organisation, who are paving the way in advances of Energy research. The company have a brilliant HR team responsible for managing the HR and Payroll responsibilities and are looking for a Payroll and Support Manager to come in and oversee the Payroll function primarily while the current incumbent takes 12 months off for maternity. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with experience in Supervisory capacity within Payroll who is looking for a new challenge or interim contract to gain further experience in this area. This is a role which not only oversees the Payroll, but will also support the HR Team Manager with a variety of HR related administrative responsibilities.

Overseeing a small team you will:

  • Ensure the monthly payroll is processed by the team in a timely manner
  • Supervise payroll team, offering technical advice, support and training when necessary
  • Act as main point of contact with 3rd Party Payroll provider
  • Ensure salaries, pay adjustments, overtime, leavers, joiners etc
  • Review, check and adjust Payroll
  • Keep accurate records of payroll data, minimise error rates etc
  • Also oversee any IT issues relating to HR / Payroll helpdesk
  • Extracting payroll files to send to 3rd party payroll provider
  • Involvement in Payroll software changes and HMRC legislation changes
  • Use MS Excel to a high standard reconciling data across various systems
  • Support HR Management team with any ad-hoc responsibilities

Experience Required:

  • Experience working with a payroll provider or working within a payroll bureau
  • Team leadership experience
  • Experience within HR environment
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills

This role is a 12 month contract, and we would ideally like to hear from candidates who are able to start in the New Year.
