My client are a niche firm in their industry and on the cusp of a huge growth plan which will see the company increase in size over next couple of years. The finance team are a brand new department within the business, the FD has a talented finance manager now in place – together they are looking for an assertive and switched on Finance Assistant to come in and support them on a number of areas, while growing and expanding their role as he business grows in the right direction. This role would ideally suit an ambitious AAT qualified (or studying) individual who is looking for an exciting challenge and wants to develop their career in a rapidly expanding business.

Initially your key duties will be:

  • Weekly cash flow reconciliation and updating of weekly cash flow analysis
  • Bank Posting and Bank Reconciliations
  • Post Supplier Invoices and Match with PODs
  • Setting up new customers on database
  • Raise sales invoices
  • Credit control
  • Assist management with the annual audit
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with budget planning/reporting
  • Quarterly VAT returns, national statistics and EC sales reporting
  • Processing timesheets, holidays, sickness ready for payroll input
  • Assess data to ensure that proper accounting practices have been followed

Experience needed:

  • 2 years of general accountancy experience
  • Ideally AAT qualified or studying
  • Time-management skills and attention to detail with numbers
  • Excel skills and systems experience
  • Collaborative and flexible when working with colleagues
  • Organised and self-motivated
